One piece of art
can transform a
whole room.

Color moves me—its abundance, its absence, and the emotions it stirs. I’m drawn to texture, to movement, and to the expansiveness of space. When I paint, I aim to infuse each piece with a bit of my own personality, hoping that when someone connects with my work, it’s more than visual—it’s personal.

Working with acrylics allows me to build layers quickly and shift direction freely, reflecting the spontaneous nature of my creative process. I often finish my pieces with mixed media—pencils, oil pastels, acrylic pens, and collage elements—whatever the work seems to call for. Each piece becomes a conversation, a living thing with its own voice.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Memphis State University. After moving to Nashville in the mid-90s, I spent several years working as a graphic designer and art director for various advertising agencies. During that time, I began painting on the side—a passion that soon evolved into a full-time pursuit. I now live in Franklin, Tennessee, and am represented by Gregg Irby Gallery in Atlanta.
